My Gal, the Zombie at San Diego Comic-Con International 2014!on July 20, 2014 at 2:00 am
Hey all! Wow! It’s that time again, mid July means San Diego Comic-Con International. This also marks the first SDCC where I will have fashion accessories, cosmetics, and the like. Needless to say, I expect them to do very well. Last year, I had the first My Gal, the Zombie compact comics and an exclusive mini comic, which nearly sold out, prints and one hot sauce. Since then, I have the MGTZ mirror compacts, pill cases, card cases, cigarette cases, another type of hot sauce, spray paint stencil shirts, spray paint stencil posters, lip balm, eye shadow, buttons, CD soundtracks, book marks, post cards, stickers, and probably a few more things I’m forgetting!
While I’m sure I’ll get around to a panel or two and try to spend as much time with old friends and new, I plan to be at our Lamp Post table at Q-01 as much as possible. I love our location, just down from my friends at Mile High Comics and past major publishers like DC, Oni, and Slave Labor, right by the bathrooms and food vendors. It is our 3rd year with that location, 4th year set up as Lamp Post, my 5th year staying with my publisher, Brett, and his family [also 5th year that I’ve had my own solo graphic novel], and 7th year going to the con. Wow- years add up! Make sure to swing by for a free crayon sketch, free bookmark, and whatever items I throw in free with purchases. I think I’ll give the choice of either a free paper doll cut out activity or spray paint stencil poster with MGTZ graphic novel purchases. Neither of which will be for sale apart from that.
Here is my new calendar of upcoming events, including the Barnes and Noble signing I’m doing right after I get back in town, about which you can find more information here http://store-locator.barnesandnoble.com/event/4722540. There’s also the Mutiny Cafe Bookstore signing the week after that and the closing of my Gals and Monsters art show at 11th Ave Gallery, where we will also be screening one of my favorite movies, probably Bride of Frankenstein, Carnival of Souls, or both! You’ll furthermore see that I’ll be at Salt Lake Comic Con in September, where I’m a guest, but they haven’t announced that yet.
